The food at SakiTumi is usually good - but they have severe problems with service. A friend and I went to dinner here a few weeks ago, and we waited AN HOUR AND TWENTY MINUTES for our food to arrive, not because they were busy (there were maybe five other groups of 3 or 4 there), but because they didn't seem to care about us. Since we'd ordered sushi, and those chefs are out in the restaurant, we watched for that entire hour as they were hardly doing anything but chatting with the waitresses and periodically going back into the kitchen to joke with the other chefs. Many times the manager was chatting with the chefs too, while they were all just standing around doing nothing. Most of the time the manager was sitting at a table with friends, ignoring what was going on. Our waiter was rude, didn't apologize for the extremely long wait, and didn't offer to comp our meals. Although our impression of the restaurant went down after that visit, my friend and I decided to try it once again a few nights ago, on a Thursday night. Although the restaurant is supposed to close at midnight that day every week, we walked in at 10pm and were told by the usual manager (the same one that was contributing to the problem the time before) that they were already closed. We asked why, and he said, "Uh, my boss told me to close early tonight, sorry." In short, this restaurant has great food... BUT don't expect to be treated with any respect as a customer, and look forward to extremely long waits.
